Lowell Curve Project – Minneapolis
With the help of a local corporation, church group, AmeriCorps members and Twin Cities Habitat Staff, the first of three homes in the Lowell Curve Project is now taking shape. In the build’s third week, volunteers are busy framing the second floor of the home along with siding the garage. This build is special because it pits men and women of all ages and construction experience together for the good of a family in need.
A Brush With Kindness Project - Minneapolis
A church group from Illinois came to the Minneapolis area for a week to partner with Twin Cities Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness program. During their stay they scrapped, caulked, primed and painted a home for a single mother to bring it up to code. The group left with a sense fulfillment as they helped to make the necessary improvements that kept this family in their home.
WomenBuild Project - South Minneapolis
Again this summer, our home building program along with help from corporate sponsors, are leading our ninth WomenBuild project from May to August in South Minneapolis. The property is a former foreclosure that was purchased and anonymously donated to us. This marks the first foreclosure remediated build project that we will be completing in the city of Minneapolis. The first couple weeks of the build are now underway with volunteers working to provide the home a sturdy foundation.
